Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Collection On 180 Gram Vinyl! Pressed At Pallas In Germany!

Linn celebrates its 40th anniversary with a special 180g vinyl bursting with stand-out music from across the decades. This limited edition LP features specially designed artwork with an audiophile twist!

Re-discover what makes this independent label great and enjoy the artistry for which it became famous. The award-winning label’s reputation for quality together with an intrinsic passion for music making is what shines through this celebratory collection.

James Jolly (Gramophone), who describes Linn as "the very model of a modern record company", contributes liner notes charting Linn’s path to its 40th anniversary year. There is best-selling classical music from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra featuring both its Principal Conductor, rising star Robin Ticciati, and the late, great Sir Charles Mackerras. There is also a track from the Gramophone award-winning album from Dunedin Consort, the revelatory 1742 Dublin version of Handel’s "Messiah".

Claire Martin and Carol Kidd, both early signings to the Linn label, have amassed enviable discographies; Claire Martin has established herself as a tour de force on the UK jazz scene winning at the British Jazz Awards seven times!

Representing singer/songwriters are Barb Jungr, who is renowned as "one of the best interpreters of Bob Dylan" and Emily Barker whose compelling song cycle, "Dear River" topped the UK Record Store Chart. Championing Linn’s commitment to home-grown Scottish talent is newcomer Amy Duncan, whose 2013 album "Cycles of Life" is a beautifully crafted album of quietly powerful songs.
Names Linn fans will be happy to see back on the bill include Tommy Smith and The Palladian Ensemble.

The strength of Linn’s classical catalogue is clear and resulted in the label being named Gramophone ‘Label of the Year’ in 2010. Many have enjoyed long associations with Linn, making memorable recordings whilst newer signings such as Katherine Bryan continue the high standard.
